Dear KCT Friends
Does anybody have a live recording of Ken with Gerhard Vohwinkel live at the 100 Club in the fifties or sixties? I have only a short video sequence. Wolfgang Zinken
Editor's Note: If anyone does have a recording and would like to contact Wolfgang, please contact the Trust first to get his address.

Hallo there. I am looking for a song booklet with Ken Colyer SKIFFLE songs which I possessed many years ago and haven’t found anywhere so far. I remember it had about 20 pages, was yellowish outside and A5 size. Can you help with an address where this could be bought? Thanks in advance. Former member of The 100 Club back in 1968 when I heard and saw Ken live.
Editor's Note: We know the book you refer to but it is has been out of print for many years and we have no idea of where you can get a copy. Suggest you keep watching Ebay as one may come up there.

I found the website by accident when looking for recipes for Creole food, and the clock turned back 50 years or so. I have been a trad fan as long as I can remember and saw Ken on many occasions. My treasured possession is an EP with 'Hiawatha Rag' on it, some think strange music for a 64 year old grandma. Now I can indulge myself with some of the recordings I have dreamed of hearing again, as the old style record player went to the tip a while ago. When I first heard ‘Going Home’ come through the PC I was almost in tears. Where can I find a copy of it?
Editor's Note: Send us your address and we will send a sales list which contains details of all available Compact Discs of Ken's music.

Re. Bracklesham Bay weekend. Shame about the booking. Martyn Bros were A-OK - pianist is brilliant. Not much wrong with Cuff! Keep on finding speakers - Roger Horton a natural. Archive film was moving. Raffle tickets should be sold on Sat and Sun. Be prepared for slump in numbers because of high travel costs and economy downturn.

Just wanted to "publicly" thank you both for all the work you put in organising a splendid weekend - good jazz, good food and good company - this was our first festival and we now know what we have been missing out on - we had a great time. Such a shame it was the last at Bracklesham - we'd have been there next year. We have now booked for Hemsby so see you there - in the meantime thanks again to you and all your helpers. Cheers Mike and Mary

MESSAGE FROM: John Finnigan, Liverpool
Some years ago I was on holiday at Prestatyn. Seeing a record shop I entered and asked the owner if he had any Ken Colyer records. He produced 2 LPs, One for my Baby and Ken Colyer at the Thames Hotel and asked me for £6 which I readily paid. I still have them in mint condition and the photo of the band standing at the bar on the front of the Thames Hotel record is a classic, pint glasses with handles on them.

MESSAGE FROM: Bert Thompson, Orinda, California, USA
If anyone has a copy of Cube Records ICSD2001 or Intercord INT156308 (same album) Live at Fairfield Hall, Croydon in 1981 and is willing to part with it or can point me in the direction of one, I would be most appreciative. I believe this LP is long out-of-print, so if some kind soul would be willing to dub it on CD (preferred) or tape I will happily recompense him or her in pounds or dollars. Regards to all, Bert.

I was an avid Colyer fan many years ago but many other bands have come within reach over the years and Ken went into the background. Last week I ordered some CDs from Lake Records but I ordered wrongly, I bought Ken’s “This Is The Blues” by mistake. When it arrived I just put it on one side, then last night I thought I would just give it a listen. Am I glad I did. It knocked me out. Ken’s playing is strong, forceful, melodic etc., etc. I have not stopped playing it. Barrie Marshall
